Industry X – Senior Electrical Engineer


Your Challenges:  

  As a Senior/Expert Electrical Engineer, you will play an important role in developing innovative hardware solutions to create market-leading products for the Aerospace and Defense industry. You will be part of a broader engineering team and will be asked to coordinate Junior HW Engineers and facilitate their professional development. 

In particular, you will be asked to:  

  • Design, Develop and Integrate avionic boards and modules, from the earlier phases to the certification one with the authorities;  
  • Define module level requirements in accordance with civil and/or military regulations (e.g. EASA, MIL) and with system requirements;  
  • Be responsible for the delivery of Hardware solutions from functional analysis, development, integration and testing of avionic equipments;  
  • Write and review technical documentation (e.g. Procurement Specification, Interface Control Document, Wiring Diagram, System Design Report, Acceptance Test Procedure, Ground and Flight Test Plan, Ground and Flight Test Report);  
  • Perform analysis of supplier documents (e.g. QTP, QTR, DDP) in order to ensure their conformity with international standards (e.g. DO-160, MIL-STD-810);
  • Review electrical schematics, parts lists and manufacturing files during the specific life cycle gates in order to avoid mistakes and guarantee a good-at-first approach;  
  • Manage the relationship with internal and external stakeholders;  
  • Timely manage risks and issues and assure that proper solution documentation is created, reviewed, approved and stored; 
  • Supervise the activities of junior systems engineers, support them in complex ones, enforce adherence to governance policies, process framework and ways of working and nurture their professional development.

Who are we looking for:  

We are looking for candidates with a well round experience in E/E Engineering activities, policies and methodologies as well as the needed soft skills to effectively manage stakeholders, work in team, supervise junior professionals and nurture their professional development. 

  You will have:   

  • Degree in a relevant STEM discipline;  
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience in aerospace embedded Hardware Development & Testing ;
  • Experience on avionic main interfaces (MIL1553, ARINC429, AFDX); 
  • Experience on main electronic components for DC/DC conversion (Linear, switches, flyback); 
  • Experience on main discrete interfaces for avionic applications (Open/GND, +28V/GND, etc.); 
  • Experience on tools for schematic entry (OrCad, Altium, DxDesigner, etc.); 
  • Experience on tools for functional simulation (PSPICE, LTSPICE) 
  • Experience in supporting the PCB Layout Engineer with main design constraintsKnowledge of tools for PCB Layout 
  • Knoledge of tools for DFx analysis (DFT, DFM) based on the product requirements; 
  • Knowledge of lifecycle management for mission and safety critical applications (MIL-498, DO254); 
  • Knowledge of requirements issue and traceability up to low level design; 
  • Experience in laboratory testing (hardware bring-up); 
  • Experience in technical documentation issue for manufacturing 
  • Knowledge of concepts for design quality and reliability assurance (DFMEA, FMEA); 
  • Knowledge of quality aspects for electronic components selection (High Rel, 883, etc.)” Problem solving and decision making, and ability to lateral thinking and system thinking;  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders of different seniority;  
  • Experience in driving and supporting activities of other Engineers and external suppliers/customers;  
  • Fluent English (written/spoken).
